One question. Many ways. This moment.
People have always had the same impulse. Something is unresolved, and they want to know. Across the world and across centuries, traditions grew up around that impulse — reading the moment a question is asked, casting lots, opening a book at random, watching what appears. Different materials, one human question.
Thenow gathers those ways in one place. But it begins somewhere most of them do not: with the possibility that the question does not need answering today at all.
Start without predicting
These are live now, and they are where we would send almost anyone first. None of them tells you what will happen. All of them change what you do in the next few minutes.
- Two questions, one small thingHow are you right now, what do you need, and one action under two minutes.
- Sit with it for three minutesDo not fix it. Do not solve it. Just stop for three minutes and see what is still there afterwards.
Also coming in this family: breathe with the question · write down what you are afraid of · move with it · ask what you can actually do now.

How we describe these
Every method page carries one of three labels, and they are not decoration.
Traditional practice — a practice with a long documented history, described as that tradition understands itself. Not a scientifically established method of prediction.
Contemplative practice — nothing is predicted. The value is in the attention, not in an answer.
Symbolic and reflective — used as a prompt for your own thinking, not as a source of fact about the future.
What we will not do
No page here names a dated outcome about you or anyone you mention. Nothing here gives a verdict on your health, your money, your marriage or your safety. Health questions go to the contemplative family and to a doctor, not to a divination.
Astrology and Prashna are used here to understand the present moment, not to predict the future. Most of this material online is arranged around what will happen, and it leaves people more frightened of tomorrow than they were yesterday. The question here is the other one: what does this moment invite you to notice?
A note on spelling. We write Prashna throughout. Prasnam, Prasanam, Prasna and Prashnam all refer to the same tradition and all lead here. The Tamil term Arudam — also written Arudham, Aarudam or Arudha — names the same act of reading what the moment presents; Clock Arudam and Clock Prashna are one method, and both lead to the same page.
